About Soya Beans
Soybeans are small, oval shaped, light tan in colour, and better known in processed form in foods such as soy milk, tofu, tempeh and soy sauce than as an actual bean! This Asian beauty comes originally from China, and is a member of the pea family. The great secret about these beans is that they are an amazing source of high-quality protein… and PS: they have a gorgeous nutty flavour! They contain all the essential amino acids, similar to those found in meat. They are fantastic in soups, stews, casseroles and salads!
- Health Benefits
Soybeans make a great addition to any diet, but are particularly useful for vegetarians as they are one of a few plant foods to contain a complete protein profile, making them a great alternative to meat.
